WW95: MIMI, MARK OLIVER'S BUGS AND RICHARD SIMMONS

Welcome to Wonderful Wednesday! Here are my favourite 5 things from the past week...enjoy:

1. I enjoyed reading this article!! It tells the story of how The Carousel from Sunnybrook Park in Toronto, found a new home in 'the happiest place on earth'....I enjoyed learning all about it! Thanks to 'Spins the World Blog'...Here are some photos that help tell the story too:

2.) BUGGY...but beautiful! Love these creations by British artist Mark Oliver. He uses various 'found' objects as his medium of choiceto create miniature insects full of personality and character. This series of urban entomology called "Litter Bugs" is brought to life entirely from trash, using eyeglass-arms for antennae and clock hands for legs. The little creatures have adapted so uniquely to the modern urban environment that they've become virtually invisible in their normal habitat.

Fantastic little bugs, huh?!!!!!!!!
(thanks to Junk Culture for this one)

3.) Don't blame for this one. I just cannot help but love this one!! Christmas is almost here, and it isn't Christmas without a little crazy.....is it? So in that spirit, I give you one of the queens of CRAY-CRAY:
I love Jimmy Fallon....and say what you want about Mimi.....she sounded great.....even if she is a total nutter!!
(you can blame husband for this link!)

4.) While we are talking about Christmas....I give you this recipe. I encourage you to make it, and then PLEASE invite me over to eat with you!!!!

It’s called Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark
Ingredients:
½ bag of mini pretzel twists
2 sticks of butter (1 cup total)
1 cup of brown sugar
1 bag of chocolate chips (2 cups)
Sea salt or table salt

Directions:
-Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
-Line a large jelly roll pan with aluminum foil and lay a single layer of pretzels down.
-In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and the brown sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Let it boil gently just until it starts to stick to the bottom and it forms a nice smooth caramel. You’ll want to let it bubble a little and get really thick.
-Remove from heat and pour evenly over the top of the pretzels (don’t worry if every single pretzel isn’t covered). Put in the oven at 350 degrees for five minutes.
-Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top. You can let the caramel melt the chips, but I prefer to put it back in the oven for one minute.
-Spread the chocolate chips around with a spatula until mostly melted.
-Sprinkle generously with salt.
-Let cool on the counter top for a few minutes and then pop in the freezer for at least two to three hours.
-When it comes out of the freezer, break it up into uneven chunks with your hands and serve.
--Quick tip: I found it tastes best when right out of the freezer. It will start to melt after sitting on the counter top for more than a few minutes.

(Thanks to MARYELLEN at WHATMAMASAY for this one!!)

5.) This is an old clip. But I just thought it was super funny! Colin Mochrie will do ANYTHING for a laugh....I love that!!
